Here are some tips that I think will be useful for you when you are looking for an internship. I see a lot of people getting into these internship scams in India. Please stay away from them.

1. Don’t say that you’ll work for free
This tells the company the quality of work you’ll do. At the end you get what you pay for. Also, unpaid internship is not an internship, it’s a voluntary work that you do.
2. Never pay the company to get an internship.
This is the worst internship scam I have seen. What’s even crazier is that students get into this. You should never pay the company so that they can give you ExpErIeNcE. Please beware of this. The company needs to pay you for your work.
3. If you don’t have experience, make your own projects first.
Focus on building a portfolio of projects you have worked on yourself. This will make sure that you do have some experience and can learn on the go.
That being said, I too have worked for free at a startup, but that was a college startup started by a senior and I was like the 2nd or 3rd person working. I got to learn a lot from my experience working over there.
